OKC ThunderCast Hosts Profiled in Thunderland Series

August 16, 2010

All summer, the Thunder have been profiling fans with unique stories in their Thunderland Series. Today, Brent, Blayne, and I have our turn. I won’t steal Phil’s thunder (pun intended, sorry) and recap the article, but it is well written and captures our interviews very well. So head over to the Thunder site and enjoy a great article about your favorite Thunder podcasters.

For those who have read the article, here is a link to the Thunder’s first podcast–in all it’s abysmal hilarity–referenced in the article.

Web Site Redesign

July 1, 2010

The Thunder offseason gives us an opportunity to focus on some non basketball related work for the OKC ThunderCast. Last summer, we shed the standard WordPress theme in favor of a more Thunder colored theme. We still think that theme served us well, but there were some major disadvantages to it. Visitors could not quickly see what each podcast was about. The only hint to the content in each episode was the title and an excerpt, which because of design constraints was limited to 60 characters. All season, we felt restricted in the information we could provide on the homepage.

#44: Thunder 2010 NBA Draft

Play Podcast #44: Thunder 2010 NBA Draft June 25, 2010

The 2010 NBA Draft was a side story tonight for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Sam Presti filled the Thunder’s holes in the middle and on the perimeter with quality players Daequan Cook, Cole Aldrich, and Morris Peterson, none of whom were drafted by the Thunder. Presti demonstrated his propensity for basketball alchemy by bartering late-round draft picks to acquire two veteran three-point shooters and one of the best centers available in the draft.

In this show, recorded during the draft, your favorite Thunder podcast trio share their immediate reaction to the exciting twists and turns of draft night, try to deduce the method in the apparent madness, and speculate on the Thunder’s involvement in this summer’s free agent frenzy.
