Web Site Redesign
A cleaner, easier-to-use website.
The Thunder offseason gives us an opportunity to focus on some non basketball related work for the OKC ThunderCast. Last summer, we shed the standard WordPress theme in favor of a more Thunder colored theme. We still think that theme served us well, but there were some major disadvantages to it. Visitors could not quickly see what each podcast was about. The only hint to the content in each episode was the title and an excerpt, which because of design constraints was limited to 60 characters. All season, we felt restricted in the information we could provide on the homepage.
The primary aim of this summer’s redesign was to design an interface that would allow you to quickly play an episode, but to also be able to see what the episodes were about. We also wanted to provide a simple way for you to find the episodes related to the topics you love. At the bottom of the home page, we have provided a link to shows about the most popular topics.
We hope you find this new interface easier to use. If you have comments about the new design, please let us know using the comments section below.
And if you haven’t seen it yet, the Thunder also redesigned their website this summer. In addition to being more aesthetically pleasing, the new layout makes it easy to get the information you want. Phil Bacharach, Thunder Director of Corporate Communications, said:
“The revamped site allows larger front-page photos, increased content and the ability to play videos on the front page. The front page also posts the latest material from the Thunder’s Twitter and Facebook accounts. Other features—THUNDERALLY, Thunderland and the Thunder Blog—are also easily accessed through the front page.”
